Why is Thai Massage beneficial for Athletes?

Traditional Thai Massage is a form of body work that is ideal for athletes because of the use of accupressure, stretching and joint mobiliztion techiniques. This is dynamic form of massage in which the practioner works to move the body through increasingly greater ranges of motion, while massaging the tissues to increase blood flow and relieve tension.

The environment in which Traditional Thai Massages take place is designed to achieve relaxation. The movements of Thai Massage are slow and flowing with firm, but gentle pressure. A Thai Massage is most successful when the client allows the practioner to move his or her body with no assistance. Thai Massage can also be a very meditative experience as it draws power from the rhythmic use of breath of both the client and practitioner.
